The best free websites to help run your games and add depth to your sessions.
5. 5e Companion App - A mobile app to help manage characters. Very easy to use and the ability to add your own homebrew make this highly usable for Dungeon Masters and players alike. Download it from the Google Play Store.
4. Goblinist - A user friendly and straight forward website to generate random encounters for any scenario. The ability to adjust the difficulty and number of monsters make it very simple but versatile. Try it out for yourself at http://tools.goblinist.com/5enc
3. Kassoon - A large collection of generators ranging from large cities to small rooms and from insults to treasure. Very easy to use and highly detailed results. Check out the full list of generators available at https://www.kassoon.com/dnd/
2. Owlbear Rodeo - A totally free digital table top. The ability to use tokens, fog of war and your own uploaded maps makes this very easy and usable. Sessions save in case you end mid combat. Set up your digital table top at https://www.owlbear.rodeo/
1. The Thieves' Guild - A very inclusive list of tools and collection of lore. List of deities, spells and equipment provide quick access mid session. It also has a small collection of free maps to download. My personal favorite is the Harvest tab. It provides details about what players can loot from every creature in D&D. It also gives the DM guidance about which rolls to call for in order for them to be successful. It makes crafting a robust downtime activity for any player. Check it all out for yourself at https://www.thievesguild.cc/
